David Treppendahl 1 and 2. The majority of the illegals that are here work in the construction industry and are paid in cash. They are not contributing to SS and Medicare. Typically the subcontractor they work for is legal and that person pays the employees in cash. I am a general contractor and get phone calls all the time from the bank making sure it is ok to cash a check for the sub contractor that it was written to because it is a large amount of money. Once they are paid in cash the majority of the money is sent back home across the border it does not stay in the United States. They take very good care of their families across the border. I can not comment on other occupations, but I believe it is a fair assessment to say that there is a tremendous amount of illegals that work in the construction industry compared to any other industry. Before anyone goes crazy about this every subcontractor that I hire is required to have active general liability and workmen’s comp insurance. They have to be legal or have a work visa to obtain these items. Who they hire to work for them is not up to me. I do not hire illegals to work for me ever.

3.They are breaking the law being here illegally. We can’t pick and choose what laws we want to follow. That is the problem! Sorry I do not agree with this statement why do we even have laws if we are not going to follow them.

4. Terrible optics? They came into the country illegally! That we allow them to stay and not enforce the law is the terrible optic! Put them outside the border have each one come in one by one and do the necessary paperwork to become a citizen, vet each person coming into the country. Why is this so hard to understand? I am sure if you follow the news you have seen the recent rape’s, murders and gang activity going on across the country committed by illegals. With proper vetting this would not be happening. It may not make America Great Again, but it will go along way to making it safer.

One more tidbit if the illegals are contributing to SS and Medicare as you claim and not collecting the benefits then why is there always the threat that SS is about to run out of money. Secondly if these contributions by the illegals are so great then why does the national debt continue to climb daily by the millions to billions?
