Qualification Requirements

Qualifications & Rules for the Golden Pen Awards

#1. Cannot violate any of David’s Facebook Rules for Posting

#2.  The essay must be no less than 300 words and no more than 750 words.  It is recommended that you write the essay in Word so you can go to “Review” and then “Word Count” to confirm that the essay is within the number of words range.

#3.  If the essay meets the above criteria and I consider that it is well written and relevant to the discussion, then I will post it on my new blog created specifically for this competition.  The name of the blog is:  www.Wolfepenaward.com

#4.  For those posts (comments on my Facebook page under the appropriate topic)  that qualify for consideration, I will add a link to the qualifying post at the end of the post.  This will take the reader to post/essay that is now posted on the blog page.

#5.  The essay will be placed in either the Red or the Blue, dropdown menu on the home page.  At the bottom of the page, the reader will be able to make comments about the essay.  He/she will rate it from:   (1) “Good”,(2)  “Better” or (3)  “Best”.  He/she needs to include their name and who they plan to vote for.  For those who give a rating on an essay from the other side of their political preference, the scoring will count double.

#6.  Following the review of all 10 topics, which will probably occur after the election, I will count up the scores and determine which author received the most points from each side.  So there will be two “Golden Pens” given.  One to the best Red Writer and one to best Blue Writer.
